How do I Q-Drop a course?

A student may drop a course without penalty through the 50th class day of a fall or spring semester, the 15th class day of a summer term or the 35th class day of a 10-week summer semester. The symbol Q shall be given to indicate a drop without penalty.

Undergraduate students will normally be permitted three Q-drops during their undergraduate studies. Students who have documented emergencies or very unusual, substantial, nonacademic circumstances that occur after the Q-drop deadline may still have relief. The student’s dean will retain the authority to support a student to Q-drop after the deadline. Additional Q-drops will be allowed only in documented unusual circumstances as determined by the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs. To initiate the process, complete a Q-drop form and visit your academic advisor or Dean's Office for further assistance and instruction.
